SCO Group seeks bankruptcy protection

SCO Group, whose four-year legal campaign against the Linux operating system sent shivers through the open source community, filed for bankruptcy protection in the US on Friday.The move marked a defeat for Darl McBride, the software companys chief executive, whose efforts to wring royalties out of Linux users have made him a controversial figure in the industry.
